Brady's Lake in the Beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania

   

If you are looking for a place that you can Fish, Hunt, Kayak and Hike then put Brady's Lake on your list of places to see in the Poconos. The Lake itself is around 223 Acres and is surrounded by Pa State Game lands #127. You will see all types of wild life here, Bear, Deer, Beaver and Bald Eagles just to name a few. As far as the fishing you can expect to catch Pan Fish, Small & Large Mouth Bass and Walleye. It is a restricted Lake as far as Power boats (No Gas Motors allowed). So pack a lunch and bring the Rods and have a great day in the Pocono Mountains at Brady's Lake.

Two Developments that Border Brady's Lake are Arrowhead Lakes and Locust Lakes. 

Brady's Lake is Located 4-5 miles east of Blakeslee Corners on route 940.

Francis E. Walter Dam in the Beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvanian

                                                                                                                                                    

 

In the western part of the Pocono Mountains between Lake Harmony and White Haven you will find Francis E. Walter Dam. This place is often missed by most people that visit the Poconos. Located off of Route 940 about 1 & 1/2 miles east of the Pa Turn pike exit. The Dam was built in 1961 for flood control on the Lehigh River. 

Nowadays it is also one of the areas known for Fishing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Hunting and Hiking. Most of the Reservoir is surrounded by Pa State Game Lands. There are two Launch areas for Boats and Kayaks. Gas power boats are restricted to 10 Horse power motors. There are also picnic areas, A Disc Golf course and mutiple fields for Baseball and soccer.

Some of the areas best fishing can be found here at the reservoir which is fed by the Lehigh River and Bear Creek.

Wildlife in the Beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania

When most people think of the Pocono Mountains they are probably thinking of Skiing and snowmobiling in the winter and swimming and boating in the summer. I have had many of my clients ask is there any wild life in the area and my reply is absolutely, We have a diverse amount of wildlife here on the Pocono  plateau. Most people have seen the Deer, Raccoons, and Geese but when I mention Bear ,Coyote, Bald Eagle, and River Otter they kind of look at me like I'm pulling their leg. The Pocono Mountains is a great place to Live, Vacation and get away from it all. It is also a place were many of Penns Woods wildlife still roam. A lot of our homes here in the Poconos are in communities with Lakes, Pools and Club Houses but what most people don't realize is that most communities are surrounded by either State Game Lands, State Forest or large tracts of undeveloped lands. At the far western side of the Pocono Mountains is the historic town of Jim Thorpe, This Town was named after the Native american athlete Jame Francis Thorpe.
